How to split a long video for WhatsApp Status

   Choose your video. Choose a video from your phone or computer, or drag it into the box. Start with a short MP4 if you are testing the tool on a new device.

   Pick the part length. Choose 30, 60 or 90 seconds, or enter a custom duration. Match the trim window your WhatsApp app allows; the default remains 30 seconds for shorter clips.

Choose the right part length

WhatsApp currently lists up to 90 seconds per Status video. Check the selection window in your app before preparing clips, especially if it offers a shorter duration. How splitting preserves the original quality

This tool copies the existing encoded video and audio into separate files. It does not resize the picture, lower the bitrate or add a watermark. Splitting therefore preserves the encoded quality of the downloaded clips, but WhatsApp may compress them when you share them. It also does not guarantee that each file will fit a particular size limit: high-bitrate footage can remain large even in short sections.

Supported files and output formats

Try MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV or 3GP files. Compatibility depends on the codecs inside the container, so a familiar extension alone does not guarantee success. MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio is a useful export choice when preparing a file for sharing. WebM and MKV inputs keep those output containers; other inputs normally produce MP4, with an original-container fallback when needed. Renaming an extension does not convert the video. Privacy and device requirements

Your video is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our server. An internet connection is needed to load the page and download the video engine on first use. Keep the tab open until you have saved the results. Available memory and storage depend on your device; for a very large recording, close other tabs or try a computer. Save the original until you have checked every downloaded part.

Common problems and how to solve them

A part that exceeds the selected duration usually reflects where the source video stores keyframes. Stream copying cuts at those points rather than at an exact frame. Try a shorter custom target, or use an editor that re-encodes when an exact maximum is essential. If the engine will not load, check your connection and retry. If the file cannot be split, export a fresh MP4 from your video editor and try that copy.
