A long Status video may exceed the duration your app accepts, while large files, unsupported formats and connection problems can also stop an upload. Check the trim window first, then split for duration or reduce bitrate for file size.
WhatsApp currently lists up to 90 seconds per Status video. If the editor only selects part of your recording, you are dealing with duration. Follow the selection window shown in your app and preview the end of the clip before posting.
Prepare sequential clips and add them to Status in order. The splitter offers 30-, 60- and 90-second targets or a custom length. It preserves the encoded streams, but cuts follow keyframes and may exceed the chosen target. Check each output before sharing.
Choose a shorter target if the app trims your parts. For exact cuts, use a video editor with re-encoding.
A short 4K recording can still be a large file. Splitting reduces the amount of footage in each file, but does not lower its bitrate or guarantee a specific size. Exporting at a lower resolution or bitrate is the next step if a short segment still fails.
Sending the original as a document in a chat is a separate option for sharing a file. It does not bypass the Status duration limit.
